Romans 2:6-11: Carrots and Sticks

We have a tendency as Christians to rely on our own works to please God. The problem is our own works will never meet the standard God has set for us. In this week’s message, Pastor Scott Gourley explains how we need to quit relying on what we do and rely on what Jesus has done.

Romans 2:1-5: Without Excuse

When we look on this world today, we see a lot of behavior that we as Christians condemn. In the beginning of the second chapter of Romans, Paul addresses the fact that we as Christians are often guilty of the very things we would condemn. In this week’s message, Pastor Scott Gourley reminds us we need to repent of the sins we commit, so we can be better equipped to help others see their sin and redemption through Christ.

Romans 1:26-32: Consequences

As Paul continues in Romans with his argument that men have turned against God, he breaks down the consequences of doing so. These consequences zero in on the sin of homosexuality, but they are not limited to this, as the text shows. In this week’s message, Pastor Scott Gourley breaks down what happens when we deny creator and worship creation.

Romans 1:18-25: The Wrath of God

As we continue into Romans, Paul introduces the concept of God’s wrath. In this week’s message, Pastor Scott Gourley explains what we need to know about the wrath of God and how it affects our world currently.

Romans 1:16-17: The Power of His Gospel

To many churches are ashamed of the Gospel. They either try to soften the blow so the message will be more readily accepted, robbing it of its power, or they try to add to it, robing it of its simplicity. In this week’s message, Pastor Scott Gourley shares why we do not have to be ashamed of the Gospel and why we should proclaim it.

Romans 1:1: Gospel Identity

As we start a new series on Romans, we are confronted with the idea that Paul puts his identity solely in Christ and his relationship to Jesus. In this week’s sermon, Pastor Scott Gourley explains how we often put our identity from things that will fail us and how we should instead put out identity in Christ.

Exodus 2:1-25: God Preserves and Prepares

Today we start a series of sermons on the life of Moses. We start with the story of Pharaoh’s daughter finding him in the reeds and raising him as her own as opposed to sending him to die per her father’s decree. In this week’s message, Pastor Kyle Hall shares what we can learn for how God preserves Moses in this story.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18: Second Coming

During Advent, we not only look to remember and honor the birth of Christ, we look forward to his return. In this Christmas Day message, Pastor Scott Gourley shares what the fact that Jesus will return means to us today.
